Anxiety therapy

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a bodily sensation of fear, terror, and it's the body's way of alerting you to something dangerous that requires your full attention, thus being a normal reaction to experiences that feel threatening.

In pathological anxiety, symptoms are triggered more easily than usual. The anxiety is often not in line with reality, and a sense of helplessness may arise. Many isolate themselves and live a life alone and in resignation.

In addition to the psychological experience of anxiety, the entire emotional experience can cause stress reactions in the body.

These can include:

  • Palpitations
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Sweating
  • Feeling hot or cold

No one should be locked in a lonely world of anxiety.

Anxiety can and should be treated gently, and with me, talk therapy can be combined with meditation, breathing exercises, and NADA acupuncture.

Anxiety symptoms

  • You struggle to keep appointments and fulfill regular obligations in your life.
  • You see the world around you as a dangerous place, so isolation gradually becomes the only alternative for you.
  • You find it difficult to talk to others about it because you don't feel understood.
  • You are surrounded by well-meaning people, and all you feel is that you are wrong.

Anxiety can be treated

Anxiety can be associated with a range of conflicts. It could be conflicts in external life situations, development, identity, existential life themes, overload, guilt, and shame. It may not be obvious what the anxiety is linked to, but there is a task in addressing it, learning to manage it, and considering it as an expression of emotions and needs that may be difficult to acknowledge. That being said, anxiety is also a physical reaction to the above. This means that we need to visit the body's sensory system and look at the overload (the alarm the body is giving).
