My therapeutic approach

Humanistic Person-Centered Psychotherapy

This form of therapy is based on humanistic scientific psychotherapy, humanism, and existential philosophy, encompassing several related approaches to psychotherapy that emphasize promoting the development of each unique individual as a free, autonomous, and responsible person. It emphasizes the holistic aspect of the whole person, viewing them as someone in harmony with themselves and acting according to their will.

It starts with the human aspect as opposed to the scientific. Therefore, humans are not perceived as mere animals but as complete beings with freedom and choices. As a result, the focus is not on the brain, genetics, or childhood, but rather on the person's experiences and perceptions. The goal is to promote the client's freedom and growth.

The first humanistic approach was psychologist Carl Rogers' person-centered or client-centered method, which emphasized that the client is not determined by biological predispositions or upbringing but is a person with freedom and choices.

Cognitive Therapy

This form of therapy focuses on what the client thinks about themselves and their difficulties. The method has been particularly used for depression and anxiety but can also be applied to a range of other mental challenges.

It is a short-term therapy process, typically consisting of weekly sessions over approximately 3 months. The therapist is active and structured, often assigning 'homework'—exercises and similar tasks—for the client to complete between sessions.

Motivational dialogue

It is a non-confrontational method that, in a collaborative spirit, explores and strengthens motivation for change and the decision to alter habits. The goal of motivational dialogue is to promote statements of change and thereby gently nudge a person towards transformation. It is a communication method that focuses on eliciting a person's internal motivation for change.

Shock Release Method

The method utilizes tools that are intuitive and tangible, guiding the stuck individual on how to navigate away from what may have held them in certain patterns for many years.

The Shock Release method ensures that the nervous system is updated, so it responds to the present and is no longer bound by previous ways of reacting. The experiences do not disappear but are archived away.

The Shock Release method was developed by Nadia Ferhat, who has synthesized the most powerful therapeutic tools. Read more here.
